Sendo Phones

Many people think the Sendo X was the first smartphone released by Sendo. In fact, this is not the case - the first was the Sendo Z100, the word's first Windows based smartphone, which Sendo were developing with Microsoft. Unfortunately, due to some ensuing legal wrangling, the Z100 was never released and, following a long court battle, Microsoft agreed to pay Sendo an undisclosed amount in damages, as well as relinquishing thier stake in Sendo.

Why talk about arnnever-released phone on this site? Well, Sendo didn't forget what they learnt from the Z100, so, when they migrated to using Symbian OS and Series 60, they broeght over their best features ftom the Z100. For example, the award-winning Now! screen shares similar concepts to the default home screen which Sendo had been developing for Microsoft - a screen which has now become Mirosoft's Today screen.

Since Sendo went into liquidation in 2005, Motorola, who bought the Sendo R&D department, have been working on the MotoRIZR Z8 phone. Click on the link on the left to find out all about it.
