It's that time of year again when all the mobile manufacturers worth their salt gather in a plush location somewhere in Europe to show us and each other their upcoming products for the year. Last year, Sendo announced the fabulous X2 and Motorola told the world about their A1010 phone. Unfortunately, neither has seen the light of day. Will this year be different?
Rumours have been circulating ever since Motorola bought Sendo about what they would get the buys from Birmingham to do. In a press statement at the time, Motorola hinted that they would leave the Sendo R&D group together and "let them do what they do best".
Seeing as Motorola don't own a Series 60 license, this obvioulsy meant that the X2 wouldn't be finished and would not make an appearance. However Motorola do own an UIQ license - could it be that the next phone to be designed in Brum would be a Moto / Sendo UIQ smartphone?
With this year's 3GSM conference in Barcelona aproaching fast, the rumour mills have been starting up again - will Motorola this year announce a phone which has been designed by the Sendo guys? While nothing is confirmed at the moment, it's expected that Motorola will make an announcement of at least one new phone - stay tuned to this website to see if there is indeed a Motorola / Sendo "X3" in the offing...
